At The Lab Dance Studio, we're not just a dance company. We're a family of movers and creators! Our mission is to ignite a love for dance in young hearts and minds, creating joyful memories and fostering creativity one dance step at a time. Owner Melody Davis welcomes you!
Melody's love for dance started at Footlites Dance Studio in Selah, WA at the age of 3. She continued to study Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip Hop, and Pom until she graduated high school. During high school she taught all styles to students ranging from 3 to 18 years old on top of being a part of the Selah High School Dance Team. While there, she was named Captain and won the WIAA State Pom Championship.
After high school, Melody attended Washington State University and was recruited to the Crimson Girls Dance Team and became Captain her junior year. The Crimson Girl Dance Team competed in Jazz and Game Day routines at the UDA College Nationals in Orlando, FL consistently finishing in the top 10 for DIA universities.
Melody then moved to Colorado and became an NBA Denver Nuggets Dancer where she was awarded "Rookie of the Year". She performed during games, taught Nuggets Kids Camp and participated in community events. Melody has choreographed at high school and university levels, taught for NBA tryouts, and has attended Pro Action Dance several times.
Nick's inspiring journey began in Ephrata, where a passion for creativity and athleticism blossomed from a young age. As a dynamic student-athlete, he immersed himself in challenges, not just participating but truly excelling. In high school, he pushed boundaries as a trailblazer on the coed cheerleading team and dazzled audiences with his unforgettable portrayal of Roger in *Grease the Musical*, captivating hearts through countless live performances.
After high school, Nick boldly took the next step at Washington State University, where he was as a member of the WSU Competition Cheer team, leading them to a National Championship title. But his university experience was so much more than accolades; it was a profound journey of connection and community. For three incredible years, he embraced the role of Butch T. Cougar, embodying the vibrant school spirit and rallying the crowd with infectious energy. Many still talk about his electric hip-hop routine at UDA Nationals alongside the talented Crimson Girls.
Today, he stays connected to the future generation, dedicating his time to hands-on tasks like mopping floors and changing light bulbs, all while igniting excitement for tumbling and lifts among eager students. Let Nick’s journey encourage you to chase your dreams fearlessly and unlock the incredible potential that lies within you.
