Policies
Proper Attire/Dress Code
Students must dress appropriately for each class. Hair is expected to be pulled up and out of the dancers face. We ask that you do not wear your street shoes on the studio floor or wear you dance shoes outside of the studio.
- Ballet -- tights, black leotard, black booty shorts or skirt, pink ballet shoes. Hair in a bun. (3-5 year olds: any color leotard, tights, skirt, pink ballet tights)
- Tap -- appropriate fitted dance wear, black tap shoes
- Jazz, Contemporary/Lyrical -- appropriate fitted dance wear, jazz shoes or pirouette shoes
- Hip Hop -- appropriate, comfortable dance wear and tennis shoes (not streetwear)
- Tumbling -- any comfortable clothing. Shirts, tank tops, sports bras, shorts and leggings are acceptable. Must have tennis shoes on to participate.
- Pom -- appropriate fitted dance wear, tennis shoes, jazz shoes, and pirouette are all acceptable
- Technique -- appropriate fitted dance wear, jazz shoes or pirouette shoes
Tuition
- Tuition is based on a course fee. The total cost for all classes has been divided into 8 equal monthly payments (Oct through May).
- All holidays have been taken into consideration and you do not pay for these classes.
- Preferred tuition payments are via credit card through your Studio Pro Parent Portal. Cash, checks and Venmo is also accepted.
- Tuition is due on the first of each month.
- A MANDATORY $15 late fee will be added to the account for each late student account. Payments are considered late after the 15th of every month.
- Statements will be emailed out in the first week of the month.
- All accounts must be kept current and there is no refund for missed classes.
- To receive a discount on tuition by paying the entire year in advance you must pay by September 30th and the discount is 10% off.
Fees
- Registration Fee -- $35 per student / $50 for families
- Costume Fees -- Will be between $60-$100 per class. Hip Hop tends to run $100-$140 per class which includes shoes. A non-refundable costume deposit of $35 will be posted to student account November 15th. The remainder of the costume balance is due approximately March 1st. If costume deposits are not paid within a timely manner, a costume will not be ordered for your child and your child will not be able to perform in the recital.
- Dance Shoes -- All students must purchase the appropriate dance shoes for their classes (ballet slippers, tap shoes, pointe shoes, pirouette shoes, etc.)
- Tights -- Tights may be needed for ballet, tap, jazz, and contemporary classes. Color and style will be determined when costumes arrive.
- Recital Tickets -- Tickets for our annual recital in May will be approximately $15 per ticket.
- Optional -- Picture Week will run mid to late April. We hope that all dancers join us for their class pictures. Picture packages of individual and class photos for each routine may be purchased through the photographer.
Discounts
- Family Member Discount -- 10% discount for every additional student following the first family member.
- Annual Prepaid Discount -- 10% off total tuition if paid in full at the beginning of the season.
Studio Name and Logo
- The Lab Dance Studio's name and/or logo is not permitted to be used by anyone without the Studio's written permisson.
Insurance
- The Lab Dance Studio does not carry medical insurance for its students. It is required that all dance students be covered by their own family insurance policies and if injury occurs it is understood that the student's own policy is your only source of coverage.
Snow, Bad Weather, Holidays & Closures
- The studio will not necessarily close for snow days, regardless of area schools being closed, since many times roads are clear and safe by 3:00PM. If in doubt, call the studio or check our social media pages on whether classes will be held or not.
